Ford Cargo Horse Lorry with Living
Professional coach built body by C&R Day Motors Ltd, Bedfordshire
Full 12 months plate and taxed to end February 2010
1982 model but has a private plate on it
10 ton, down plated to 7.5 tons and so can be driven on car license
18’ long box which has a horse area of 12’ and an internal height of 7’2”
Will carry 3 large horses and is also fitted with saddle and rug racks at the front for tack
Recent heavy-duty floor fitted in horse area with rubber matting on top
Telescopic full depth partitions
Cut-through living that will sleep at least 3 people and is fitted with a fold down table, sink and drainer, twin burner gas hob and storage cupboards
6.2 litre 6-cylinder engine, which starts instantly in any weather, even if not used for a while.
A little smoky on start up but soon clears and runs very well
Clutch and gearbox are good although there is a little bit of play on the gearstick linkage. It does go into gear without any problems and does not jump out of gear.
6 nearly new tyres
On board water tank for sink and under-floor storage lockers either side
Towbar and electrics
The cab is in very good condition for the age of the lorry and has had new floor pans fitted as well as new wings
This lorry is in generally good condition throughout and has proven very reliable in the two years we have owned it. It is not a modern speed machine but drives well and should give many years more service.
